What they are

A traditional Himalayan chew, made from milk

Yak chews are hard-pressed from yak and cow milk with a little lime juice and salt, then dried for weeks the traditional way. That's the whole ingredient list — one simple, natural chew with nothing artificial added.

Built to last

Hours of chewing, not minutes

Because they're so dense, yak chews keep even determined chewers busy far longer than a typical treat — most dogs take days to weeks to work through one. Great for calm, focused chewing and clean teeth.

The clever bit

Turn the last nub into popcorn

When a chew is down to its final piece, pop it in the microwave for 45–60 seconds until it puffs up like popcorn. Let it cool completely, then serve it as a light, crunchy treat — zero waste, and dogs love it.

Yak chew FAQs

Are yak chews safe for dogs?

Yes — they're a hard, highly digestible milk chew. As with any chew, supervise your dog and take the final small piece away (or puff it in the microwave) so it can't be swallowed whole.

How long do they last?

Most dogs take from a few days to a couple of weeks per chew. Heavy chewers finish faster — size up if yours does.

Which size should I choose?

Match the chew to your dog's weight: Small under 10kg, Medium 10–25kg, XL 25kg and over. When in doubt, size up.

What's the microwave trick?

Microwave the last nub for 45–60 seconds until it puffs up, let it cool fully, then serve as a crunchy treat. No waste.

Are they smelly?

No — yak chews are virtually odour-free and don't stain carpets or furniture, unlike many animal-based chews.

My dog is lactose sensitive — are these OK?

Yak chews are very low in lactose because most is removed during traditional processing, but if your dog has a known dairy allergy, check with your vet first.
